The role 🛠️

As a Caretaker, you will help ensure the building is clean, safe, secure and ready for use by Council staff, community groups, organisations and members of the public.

The Caretaker will be responsible for setting up rooms, carrying out cleaning duties, completing basic maintenance tasks, supporting users of the building and ensuring the terms and conditions of hire are followed.

Main duties ✅

You will be responsible for:

  • Carrying out general caretaking duties within the centre
  • Setting up and taking down equipment for user groups
  • Preparing rooms for Council staff, groups and organisations
  • Assisting with refreshments and snacks when required
  • Carrying out cleaning duties including sweeping, vacuuming, washing and polishing
  • Cleaning toilets, kitchens and other communal areas

The role 🌱

About the Role

Reporting to the Business Coordinator, you will play a key role in supporting the administration, monitoring and verification of externally funded activities and projects across the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the monitoring, evaluation and verification of externally funded projects and activities.

About You

You will be a detail-oriented professional with strong financial administration and grant management experience, capable of working across multiple projects while maintaining high levels of accuracy and compliance.

You will possess excellent analytical skills, strong organisational abilities and the confidence to work with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

 

Essential Criteria

Applicants must possess either:

  • A third-level qualification in Finance, Business Studies, Accountancy or a related discipline, plus at least one year's relevant experience in the required areas;

OR

  • At least two years' relevant experience in the required areas.

 

Relevant experience must include:

  • Assisting with revenue estimates, budget monitoring and accounts receivable/payable functions.
  • Administration, monitoring and evaluation of grant-funded programmes, including compliance and verification processes.
  • Managing business support staff, including allocating and prioritising workloads.

The Role

As an Events Co-ordinator, you will support the planning, management, delivery and evaluation of a wide range of events designed to encourage participation and increase the use of parks and open spaces.

Working closely with Events Officers, community groups, external partners and event organisers, you will help coordinate both council-led and large-scale third-party events, ensuring all licensing, legal, health and safety and operational requirements are met.

You will also act as a key point of contact for customers wishing to organise events in council parks and open spaces, providing guidance and support throughout the application and delivery process.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the planning, organisation and delivery of outdoor events, fun days, community activities and engagement programmes.
  • Support the management of large-scale promoter-led events and ensure compliance with licensing, legal and health and safety requirements.
  • Act as Deputy Event Controller at council events, supporting event operations and stakeholder liaison.
  • Provide advice and guidance to event organisers regarding council policies and booking procedures.
  • Assist with event monitoring, evaluation and reporting.
