π Responsibilities
As a Business Support Officer, your key responsibilities will include:
- π‘ Providing advice and guidance on financial, business information systems, performance management, projects, and business administration matters across the directorate.
- ποΈ Supporting the Business Support Manager with day-to-day administrative tasks.
- π Coordinating customer care information and other relevant data for the Service Unit.
- π€ Collaborating with other Business Support Officers to ensure a unified approach to business support.
- π° Assisting in budget control activities across all functions and facilities within the Service Unit.
- π Preparing analysis, reports, briefing documents, and statistical data for Council Committees.
- ποΈ Supporting the preparation and monitoring of business plans and risk registers, including the development of annual objectives and performance indicators.
- ποΈ Leading the production of business cases and financial appraisals to support Service Unit initiatives and projects.
- π Assisting with procurement activities, including tenders and evaluating submissions, in line with Council policies.
- π€ Building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, including tenants, user groups, partnerships, government bodies, and service providers.
- π Conducting research to identify emerging needs within the Service Unit.
- βοΈ Ensuring compliance with Council policies and procedures while upholding the highest standards of management and personal conduct.
- β Promoting high standards of customer care and enhancing the public image and reputation of the Council.

π Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- π Proven experience in business support, financial operations, or performance management.
- π€ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to prepare detailed reports and business cases.
- π£οΈ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- π» Proficiency in business information systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- π Knowledge of procurement policies and procedures is desirable.
