• PAYE: £13.63 per hour

evening shifts Newcastle and surrounding areas

🛠️ Responsibilities

As a Cleansing Operative, your key responsibilities will include:

• 🧹 Sweeping, collecting, and removing litter, dirt, leaves, weeds, and other debris from public spaces, including roads, pavements, and shopping precincts.
• 🚮 Emptying and inspecting litter bins regularly.
• 🗑️ Assisting with refuse collection duties, including the removal of household, industrial, commercial, and recyclable waste.
• 🛠️ Operating and maintaining tools and equipment, including sharp kits and street sweeping vehicles (training provided).
• 🚨 Reporting public safety issues or environmental concerns to the appropriate authorities.
• 🚛 Assisting drivers in vehicle maneuvering and safely operating associated vehicle apparatus.
• 😊 Interacting courteously and professionally with members of the public.

📋 Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• A strong work ethic and the ability to work effectively in all weather conditions. 🌧️☀️
• The ability to work as part of a team or independently. 🤝
• A commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety. ✨
• A valid driver’s license (preferred but not essential). 🚗
• Willingness to undertake training for operating specialist vehicles and equipment. 🚜
• Good communication skills and a professional attitude when interacting with the public. 🗣️

🗓️ Day-to-Day

Your typical day will involve:

• Starting your shift at the designated base location. ⏰
• Carrying out street cleansing tasks, including sweeping and litter collection. 🧹
• Operating tools and equipment to maintain public spaces. 🔧
• Assisting with refuse collection and disposal as needed. 🗑️
• Reporting any safety or environmental issues encountered during your shift. 🛑
• Collaborating with your team to ensure all assigned areas are cleaned efficiently. 🤝
