We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Events Co-ordinator to join our Parks Events team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering a diverse programme of events, activities and community initiatives across parks and open spaces.
The Role
As an Events Co-ordinator, you will support the planning, management, delivery and evaluation of a wide range of events designed to encourage participation and increase the use of parks and open spaces.
Working closely with Events Officers, community groups, external partners and event organisers, you will help coordinate both council-led and large-scale third-party events, ensuring all licensing, legal, health and safety and operational requirements are met.
You will also act as a key point of contact for customers wishing to organise events in council parks and open spaces, providing guidance and support throughout the application and delivery process.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the planning, organisation and delivery of outdoor events, fun days, community activities and engagement programmes.
- Support the management of large-scale promoter-led events and ensure compliance with licensing, legal and health and safety requirements.
- Act as Deputy Event Controller at council events, supporting event operations and stakeholder liaison.
- Provide advice and guidance to event organisers regarding council policies and booking procedures.
- Assist with event monitoring, evaluation and reporting.
- Support funding agreements, grant applications and partnership projects.
- Coordinate procurement processes, purchase orders and contractor management.
- Assist with budget monitoring and financial administration.
- Develop relationships with community groups, schools, voluntary organisations and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to promotional materials, online content and event communications.
- Support the administration of allotments, pavilions and community facility bookings.
- Ensure compliance with council policies, procedures and legislative requirements.
About You
You will be an organised and customer-focused individual with experience supporting outdoor events and community activities. You will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and contributing to successful event delivery.
Essential Criteria
Applicants must possess:
- Five GCSEs (Grades A-C), including English Language, or equivalent qualifications.
AND
At least one year's relevant experience in:
- Assisting with the planning and delivery of outdoor parks events and activities.
- Assisting in the provision of content for online and print publicity materials for programmed events.
